2023-2024 Private Lesson Information

Thank you for the opportunity to teach you or your child!  We believe music has such a vital role in an individual's life as it teaches a wide variety of character traits including discipline, work ethic, responsibility, and creativity.  We design our lessons to cover all areas of musicianship: theory, technique, ear-training, sight-reading, performance, music history, and much more!  Not only will students be challenged weekly to move forward in their musical training, but they will also enjoy the journey of music through exciting reward programs, games, camps, and recitals. Our goal is to help students reach their full music potential for God and His glory!

Students will not be allowed to continue lessons with us until the following year, and will be responsible to pay the balance accrued before being accepted. Students who choose not to pay the late fee will also have lessons suspended. Tuition is not refunded for missed or canceled lessons.

LESSONS & YEARLY EVENTS

Students are given many exciting opportunities throughout the year. Along with their weekly lessons, students can participate in monthly Premier Club, exciting Conservatory competitions, music ministry opportunities, multiple recitals, and our annual Summer Music Camp!

LESSON ATTENDANCE

It is the responsibility of the parent or student to be on time for each lesson. If a student arrives late, that time will not be made up, and the lesson will still end at its scheduled time. Students must arrive with all of their materials. We are not responsible for students after their lesson; parents must pick students up promptly.

MISSED LESSONS

Parents must give a full one-week notice to receive an excused absence with a make-up lesson. For sickness or emergency situations, students must communicate their absence via text as soon as possible. Failure to communicate this absence with the teacher will result in an unexcused absence in which no make-up lesson will be given. Students will only receive 2 excused absences per semester for the Conservatory year. Teachers may use a monthly group class for their make-up lessons.

MATERIALS & PRACTICING

Each student will be required to obtain materials requested by their teacher for his/her individual progress and learning. Students must have an appropriate instrument to practice on. Piano students must have a full-size (88 keys) acoustic piano or digital keyboard. Teachers assign work each week that is to be practiced as well as give guidelines for practice to help their students succeed. Teachers reserve the right to dismiss a student early who comes unprepared and unpracticed for the lesson. This lesson will not be made up or refunded.

DISCONTINUED LESSONS

Occasionally a student will want to quit, but this is a decision that should be made thoughtfully and discussed by the parents, teacher, and student so that lessons can cease on a positive note. The teacher may also discontinue lessons if there is a lack of interest, an excessive amount of absences, and/or a consistent lack of preparation for lessons. For all cancellations, a one-month notice is required, as well as a $50 cancellation fee that is due with parent’s notice.

ONLINE LESSON PROCEDURES

Online lessons may be used by all students in case of inclement weather not permitting travel to the studio, students who have an illness but are still able to have a lesson, or if the teacher must leave town unexpectedly. A reliable internet connection is vital to a good lesson. The place in which lessons are held must be quiet, but not in a student’s bedroom. Students should have all material for the lesson ready to go 5 minutes before their scheduled time.

CROWN MUSIC CONSERVATORY BUILDING PROCEDURES

Our Conservatory building also functions as an office building. All students eleven years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent in the building. Those waiting for lessons are to quietly sit and wait in the waiting area. Your teacher will come out to get each student at their lesson time. Children should not be playing on the swing or in the planters or rock areas, nor should they be running inside the buildings. Any damage done to the property will be billed to the family of the student who is responsible. Crown Music Conservatory, The Crown College, and/or Temple Baptist Academy are released from any liabilities, accidents, or injuries that may incur from the enrolled student, family member, and/or friend while on the property with the participation of music lessons, Music Camp, recitals, or any other events in relation to this Music Institution.
